Just because it’s Christmas time, that doesn’t mean you have to go the traditional route and throw the same party you’ve had every year. Why not get creative with your Christmas party ideas, and do something that none of your employees will be expecting?
For your Christmas office function, here are a few out-of-the-box ideas:
Christmas Reception — Rent out a function room at a local event venue or hotel, and have your guests arrive as the day is ending. Have a grab bag filled with goodies for each of your employees, and share a few hours of fun with them. You can watch a movie, hire a comedian, or play games with those in your office.
Surprise Lunch — instead of doing a big evening party on the last day of work, why not hold a surprise lunch for your employees? Bring in trays of sandwiches and other cheap party food that everyone loves, and give all of the workers the rest of the day off. For those who are looking forward to going home to family and friends, this is the winner idea!
Boss Santa — Instead of hiring a Santa, just get the boss a Santa suit and have him hand out the “presents” in the form of cash bonuses or small gifts for the employees. You can have refreshments available, but don’t obligate people to come.
Have it at Home — If one of the managers or executives of the company have a large home, consider having a BBQ there. It will be much easier for people to feel at ease and relaxed when they’re out of their work clothes, and it can be much more enjoyable to kick back with a BBQ.
Pizza and Office Games — Who hasn’t always wanted to try silly office games like Chair Races or Stapler Shooting? Instead of getting too complicated, just order a few dozen pizzas and organize some crazy office games. It will help make the workplace a bit more enjoyable when they next come in to work.
Paintball — If you want a game that all of your employees will love, paintball is definitely the party of choice for you! You’ll find many paintball facilities near Melbourne, and they’re not too costly. Give your employees a chance to really kick back and enjoy themselves!
Pot-Luck Party — Instead of you springing for all of the costs, rent a nice event venue and have your employees each cook something simple for the party. You can make it like a showcase for their culinary skills, complete with prizes for the best appetizers, the best entrees, and the best desserts. Making it a competition can be a lot of fun, and you’ll find that it’s a great way to get a whole lot of food on the cheap!
